There can’t be many people who don’t value personal hygiene; it’s a hugely important part of looking after ourselves, feeling good and creating good impressions with others.

So, how often should we shower to maintain good levels of cleanliness and personal hygiene? The short answer is that it will vary from person to person depending on your lifestyle, but it is definitely advisable to wash in one way or another on at least a daily basis.
You don’t necessarily have to shower every day; some days you might feel like having a nice, long, relaxing bath in the evening. You could then just have a stand up wash at the sink to freshen up in the morning. If you prefer baths on an evening, just bear in mind that the average person sweats a great deal at night and baths won’t get you quite as clean as showers (as you are essentially soaking in your own dirt).
If your lifestyle means that you work up a sweat fairly frequently, you may need to shower or wash more than once a day. Perhaps you work in a hot and busy environment like a kitchen or a nightclub. If this is the case you’ll find yourself needing to shower after you finish work, as well as before you start, if you want to avoid bad body odours. Whenever you do sport or exercise you should wash or shower afterwards if you want to stay sweet smelling.
As with anyone else, those of us who have mobility issues are no less concerned with personal hygiene and take just as much pride in our bodies, but showers can prove difficult if they involve stepping in and out of bath tubs. Thankfully, Mobility-Plus has a great range of walk in showers to choose from, so you can maintain your personal hygiene standards whatever your circumstances.
