Posted on 2010 under Cosmetic, Health | No Comment14 Jul
When you start looking into cosmetic treatments you will soon find out how many services, practitioners and options there are available. The important thing is how to navigate your way through this maze of information because not all of it is reliable or truthful. Cosmetic treatment is a fast growing market, and you should make sure you seek out the right advice before committing to any kind of cosmetic surgery or wrinkle treatment.

Cosmetic surgery is different to reconstructive or plastic surgery which are procedures to correct areas damaged by injury, disease or congenital defect. But like any form of surgery, cosmetic procedures have the same risks associated such as issues with anaesthesia, excessive bleeding, infection, scarring and failure to heal. And like any other form of surgery, cosmetic surgery requires the same amount of healing and recovery time, proper after care and special attention from loved ones. Because cosmetic surgery is serious treatment, you need to make sure you are getting the best advice available to you when you make inquiries.
You should do careful research to ensure you choose an experienced surgeon. Choose a surgeon who will gladly offer you all of the information you require about their education, training and experience.
There are many different treatments available to those in the market for cosmetic surgery, such as rhinoplasty, abdominoplasty, breast lift and augmentation, liposuction, wrinkle reduction, dermabrasion, meloplasty (facelift), blepharoplasty (eyelift) and so on.
Perhaps it is not wise to assume that one surgeon is great at all of these procedures. It is more likely that a reputable surgeon will specialise in one or two of these areas. So if there is a clinic that claims they can do it all under one roof, perhaps you need look at who their surgeons and practitioners are and check that they are bonefide.
Many clinics try to beautify and glamorise cosmetic surgery and treatments but don’t be swayed by this clever marketing. The treatments you are looking at are serious and sometimes invasive surgery.

Stick to clinics that;
- Are upfront about their surgeons, listing them all by name
- Offer information (education, experience, specialties) about their surgeons and practitioners
- Tell you exactly what is involved, in detail, for each procedure
- Are upfront and offer clear information about the side effects and symptoms you may experience after surgery
- Will give you realistic goals and will admit freely when they believe that your goal is not achievable
- Offer you cooling off periods
- Treat your inquiries as intensively as any other medical procedure
- Encourage you to be as informed as possible about cosmetic treatments and surgery
- Offer you extensive and abundant before and after shots of their clients
So whether you are looking to have a breast enlargement or a simple dermal filler, make sure you get the right advice so that you are in the safest and most experience of hands for your cosmetic treatment consultation.
